Knowing Spanish traditions


Flamenco is a folk tradition in southern Spain, especially in Andalusia, in this land are the roots of the singing, dancing and flamenco guitar.
During April, in Seville, held the famous Feria de Abril which is a week where there is singing, dancing, sherry and typical gastronomy. The fair is close to Easter, where the famous brotherhoods take place.
A tradition that brings millions of people, is a visit to a town called El Rocio, which honors the Virgen del Rocio, consisting of parades with wagons adorned with flamenco style, where many people make pilgrimages from afar to venerate the virgin.
Another famous festival is the celebration of "Las Fallas de San José" in Valencia, held in March, throughout the city where art and fireworks shows are performed. Valencia close to the town of Bunol, where the last Wednesday of August celebrates La Tomatina, which is a tomato fight, being the most in the world where millions of people gather large.
Another festival is The Tamburrada in San Sebastian during February, which is considered a "wild" week.
